Trade Mission to Myanmar

OakTec’s Commercial Director, Tom Harrison, joined a trade mission to Myanmar in July. The mission, supported by Innovate Uk and the Global Challenges Resource Fund, saw 15 businesses from the UK low carbon energy sector travel to Myanmar, formally Burma, to build a better understanding of the energy sector and to build collaborative partnerships with local businesses. During the week long visit, the delegates visited a number of sites looking at differing electricity generation solutions and also travelled to the Capital city to meet with the energy ministry. The visit provided a valuable insight into the barriers and opportunities that exist in Myanmar and a number of potential future projects are under discussion.
